What is HCG?
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a natural hormone found in women who are in the early stages of pregnancy. It was discovered in 1954 by Dr. Albert T. W. Simeons, who observed the way in which the body turned stored fat reserves into nutrition for the placenta in order to nourish and protect the fetus.
How does HCG weight loss work?
HCG accelerates your body’s metabolism to burn off the abnormal fat stores while maintaining muscle mass. The HCG hormone drains fat cells and, combined with a low calorie diet, transforms them into positive natural energy, resulting in a fast, safe weight loss.
How much weight will I lose?
Most McAllen HCG Center patients can expect a loss of at least 1 to 2 pounds a day. It is possible to lose up to 30 pounds in 40 days, depending on your sex, metabolic rate and genetics.
What can I eat?
The low-calorie HCG diet is balanced and diverse, consisting of a healthy variety of meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, and limited starches and vegetarian protein substitutions.
Will I be hungry on a 500 calorie diet?
It is common for mild hunger during the first few days but by the second week your metabolic rate will adjust to the diet and help to avoid feelings of hunger or fatigue.
Can I complete the HCG protocol if I am lactose intolerant?
Yes. Chicken breast and very lean beef are preferable to dairy products. Eggs can be used as well.
Does HCG work for everyone?
Most people who participate in our McAllen HCG Weight Loss program can expect to lose between 0.5 to 1 pound per day. However, as with any drug or medication, there is individual variation in its efficacy.
Will the weight come back after the HCG diet?
Your metabolism will be different and you will be able to eat moderately without feeling the need to overeat. If you follow our McAllen HCG Weight Loss protocol precisely, the weight should remain off.
Is HCG safe? Are there any side effects?
There are no side effects associated with HCG. The HCG diet has been used for weight loss for over 50 years and there is plenty of evidence to back up its safety.
